Questions, answered

Everything you need before creating.

Short, direct answers about creations, credits, visibility, and downloads.

What can I create with MCSKIN?

MCSKIN creates one to four Minecraft skin variations from your character description. Each completed creation includes previews and game-ready skin PNG files.

Can I make a Minecraft skin without drawing?

Yes. Describe your character in the Studio, generate up to four variations, then preview and download your preferred 64×64 PNG. No drawing skills are required.

Do new accounts receive free credits?

Yes. A new account currently receives one signup credit that expires 30 days after issue. A creation funded entirely by free credits is public.

Can I keep a generated skin private?

Yes, when you use paid credits. Paid creations can be created as private or public, and their visibility can be changed after completion. Free-credit creations must remain public.

How are credits charged?

The catalog shows each model’s per-variation cost. The total is that rate multiplied by your variation count. Private creations use paid credits only; public creations automatically use free credits first, then paid credits if needed.

Do credit packs renew?

No. Credit packs are one-time purchases and do not start a subscription. Purchased credits currently expire 365 days after purchase; every purchase’s exact expiry appears on the Credits page.

Can I delete a creation?

Ready, failed, and rejected creations can be deleted. Creations that are queued or still being created cannot be removed until they reach a final state.

Which candidate does the Gallery download?

You choose a candidate on the public detail page. MCSKIN records the aggregate download event and serves the corresponding original skin PNG.

What is the difference between a preview and the skin PNG?

The preview is a larger image made for inspecting the character. The skin asset is the original 64×64 PNG arranged as a Minecraft texture map. Upload the skin PNG to the game, not a screenshot of the preview.

How do I use a downloaded skin in Minecraft?

Keep the downloaded PNG unchanged. Java Edition supports uploading a custom skin from the Minecraft Launcher or profile; available Bedrock skin controls depend on the platform and appear in the Dressing Room.

How detailed should my skin prompt be?

One or two focused sentences usually work well. Describe the character role or species, main outfit, dominant colors, face or headwear, and one memorable accessory.

Can I download and use a skin from the public Gallery?

Yes. Open a public work, compare its candidates, and download the original PNG you prefer. Your use must still respect applicable law, third-party rights, and the current Minecraft rules.

What happens when I delete my account?

Active sessions are revoked and deletion is scheduled after a seven-day recovery period. Signing in during that period cancels the request. Some payment, security, dispute, and backup records may remain for limited legal or operational reasons.

Is MCSKIN an official Minecraft service?

No. MCSKIN is independent and is not approved by or associated with Mojang or Microsoft. Minecraft names, brands, assets, and related rights belong to Mojang and Microsoft.
